Privacy policy
saveIt is a price tracker that runs on your iPhone. This policy says what the app does with information, which is very little, and what it never does.
01What saveIt stores, and where
- Your watchlist. This is:
- the product links you track;
- the alert rules you set;
- the prices saveIt has read;
- any notes you add;
- any barcode you have scanned;
- what you paid for anything you mark as bought.
It is stored on your device only, in a container shared between the app, its Share extension and its widget. It is never uploaded to us. We run no server and have no account system.
- Settings. Whether affiliate links are on, your Focus alert level, how you sort the watchlist, and a few one-off flags, such as whether you have been asked to rate the app. These are stored on your device only.
- Pictures. saveIt keeps a small copy of each product's photo and each shop's icon on your device. That way the watchlist, widgets, notifications, Siri and Spotlight can show them without fetching them again.
- Screenshots. When you share, pick or paste a screenshot, saveIt reads the link and price from it on your device. It doesn't keep the picture.
If you delete the app, everything above is deleted with it.
02What leaves your device
- Price checks. To read a price, saveIt fetches the product page from the shop's website, directly from your phone, the way Safari would. The shop sees an ordinary page request from your IP address. saveIt sends no identifier of its own and sets no tracking cookies of its own.
Checks that saveIt schedules for itself only use Wi-Fi or another unmetered connection, and never run in Low Data Mode. A check you ask for uses whatever connection you have.
- Short links. When you share a shortened or redirecting link, such as one from amzn.to or bit.ly, saveIt asks that link service where it leads. It does this directly from your phone, so it can track the product page itself. The service sees an ordinary request from your IP address, as it would if you tapped the link. Nothing else is sent.
- Pictures and shop icons.
- A product's photo is downloaded once, from the address the shop's page gives for it.
- A shop's icon is requested from that shop's own homepage, using Apple's LinkPresentation framework, when the shop appears in the app. After that it's requested at most once a month.
- No third-party icon service is used, so no one else learns which shops you look at.
- Tapping through to a shop. This covers "Open at [shop]" and the shops in the Shops tab. With affiliate links switched on, the link may go through an affiliate network (Awin, Skimlinks or Impact) before it reaches the shop.
- The network and the shop learn that the click came from saveIt.
- The click reference saveIt attaches is the fixed text
ios-app. It identifies no person and no device. - Links to Amazon always go straight to Amazon.
- You can turn affiliate links off in Settings. Links then go straight to the shop.
- Tips. Tips are In-App Purchases, processed by Apple. We never see your payment details or who you are. The app is told only that a tip went through, and keeps no record of it. A tip unlocks nothing.
03What saveIt does not do
- No analytics, telemetry or crash reports are sent to us.
- No advertising identifier is read, and there is no tracking in the App Store sense.
- No data is sold, shared for marketing, or combined with other sources.
- No account, sign-in, email address or phone number is asked for.
- The clipboard isn't read unless you ask. When you open the Add screen, saveIt asks iOS whether the clipboard holds a web link, without reading what the link is. That's why iOS shows no paste notice. The link is read only when you tap Paste.
04Apple features
- Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight, widgets, Visual Intelligence and Apple Intelligence summaries all work from the copy of your watchlist on your device.
- If you start a check of a long watchlist and then leave the app, iOS can show its progress as a Live Activity on your device.
- Where Apple processes a request, Apple's own privacy policy applies.
05Notifications
Price alerts are generated on your device and delivered locally. No push server is involved and no device token is collected.
06Children
saveIt is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal data from anyone.
07Your rights
Because saveIt holds no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on request. Everything is under your control, on your device. If you have a question, email hi@parkinsad.com.
08Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address, with a new effective date.
09This website
saveit.parkinsad.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics or third-party scripts. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, to run and protect the site.
