Support
saveIt is made by one person in the UK. If something isn't working, or a shop you use won't read, write in and it will get looked at.
It helps to include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and, if it's about a product, the link you shared.
01Getting started
What do I need?
An iPhone or iPad on iOS 26 or later. saveIt is free, with no account and no sign-in, and it speaks seventeen languages.
How do I track a product?
On the product's page in Safari or the shop's app, tap Share and choose saveIt. Pick when you want to hear about it, and save.
You can also tap + in the app and paste a link, pick a screenshot of the product page, or scan a QR code.
What are the alert rules?
- Drops below my price. Only when it reaches the price you name.
- Any price drop. Every real cut. Pennies are ignored.
- Lowest price yet. Only when it beats every price saveIt has recorded for that product.
With any rule, you can also ask to hear when a product that has sold out is back in stock.
02Checks and alerts
How often are prices checked?
saveIt checks when you open the app and when you pull to refresh the watchlist. It also checks in the background. After a good read, a product is due again in about six hours. If a check fails, saveIt tries again after about 15 minutes, then waits longer each time, up to six hours.
iOS decides when apps may run in the background, so those checks can come later than they're due, especially if the phone is on Low Power Mode or saveIt hasn't been opened for a while.
Checks saveIt schedules for itself only use Wi-Fi or another unmetered connection, and don't run in Low Data Mode. A check you ask for uses whatever connection you have.
The price dropped but I didn't get an alert. Why?
- Alerts may be arriving quietly. Until you allow banners, iOS delivers saveIt's alerts quietly to Notification Centre. Settings in saveIt shows how alerts are being delivered and lets you turn them up.
- The drop was too small.
Any price drop
ignores falls of less than 1% of the price or 50p, whichever is bigger. - You'd already been told. saveIt tells you when a price reaches your rule, not on every check while it stays there. If it falls meaningfully further, that's news again and you'll hear about it.
- A Focus was on. A Focus can hold or silence notifications. saveIt's Focus filter lets you choose how it behaves during one.
- The check hadn't run yet. See how often prices are checked, above. The product's page in saveIt says when its price was last read.
A product says its last check didn't get through. What now?
Often nothing. While the app is open, saveIt checks again by itself when a fresh check is likely to fix it: a timeout after about ten minutes, a shop that turned one check away after a few hours. If you'd rather not wait, tap Check again beside the product, or Check all on the card at the top of the watchlist.
If nothing has been checked for a day and a half, saveIt sends one quiet reminder to open it.
Why did I get one alert for several products?
When three or more products change in the same check, saveIt sends one summary instead of a burst of notifications.
What does "Last read" mean?
Every price in saveIt shows when it was read. If the latest check didn't get through, saveIt keeps showing the last price it actually read, and when, rather than pretending the check succeeded.
03Shops
Which shops does saveIt work with?
Most shops that show their price on the product page. There's no fixed list of supported sites: share a product page and saveIt tries to read it.
The Shops tab lists the local shops of 54 countries. It opens on your own country, and the flag at the top switches to another. Each shop is marked:
- A tick. saveIt has read a price there in that country's currency, in our own checks or on your phone.
- A clock. It can be read, but saveIt has to draw the page first, so checks take a little longer.
- A question mark. Not checked yet. Most shops work, so it's worth a try.
saveIt says it can't read a shop. What can I do?
There are two usual reasons:
- The shop blocks automated price checks. Some shops turn away any request that isn't a person browsing, so saveIt can't read their prices from your phone.
- The shop builds its page in the browser. saveIt draws the page itself to look for the price, but sometimes still can't find one.
If saveIt has read a product before and a check fails, it's usually temporary. saveIt will try again later. If a shop never reads, email the product link to hi@parkinsad.com.
Can I add a shop to the Shops tab?
You don't need to. Any shop can be tracked by sharing its product page. The Shops tab is a shortcut to popular ones, and suggestions for it are welcome by email.
04Money
Is saveIt really free?
Yes. There are no ads, no subscription and no paid features.
Does saveIt use affiliate links?
Not today. When you tap through from saveIt to a shop, the link opens the shop directly, and nobody is paid for your click.
That may change. If saveIt ever earns a commission through an affiliate network, you pay the same price either way, and:
- Every button that uses one will say so.
- Links to Amazon will still go straight to Amazon.
- What you track, and when you're alerted, will never depend on whether a shop pays a commission. The Shops list has no paid placements.
- Settings will have a switch to turn them off.
How do tips work?
Settings › Supporting saveIt offers three one-off tips, paid through the App Store. A tip unlocks nothing, because nothing in saveIt is locked. To ask for a refund, use Apple's Report a Problem page. Apple handles every App Store payment, and we never see your details.
05Your data
Where is my watchlist kept?
On your iPhone only. saveIt has no account, runs no server and uploads nothing, so there is nothing about you on our side to see, export or delete. The privacy policy has the detail.
How do I delete everything?
Delete a product by swiping it in the watchlist, or delete the app to remove everything saveIt has stored.
